It is a human thing to be inspired by birds and the absolute freedom they represent.

“Freedom”, the bald eagle, is sculpted from a solid walnut tree trunk. The head and tail and his claws are made of stainless steel sheet metal. To be able to carve the feathers that thin and realistic, Stefan created this special technic where he applied a thin layer of fiberglass cloth with epoxy resin to create the strength necessary.  Seeing the beautiful marbling and grain in the wood speaks for itself.

The eagle is suspended from a thin stainless steel wire rope that at certain angles becomes just about invisible enabling the eagle to turn around with just a slight breeze in the air.
