“Mankind” is created from a solid piece of maple. The gold color is painted epoxy resin and fiberglass Bondo. This technic was developed by Stefan to eliminate dry rot and unforeseen cracks in the wood. The sculpture is finished with raw linseed oil; the wood will darken as the years pass.

“Mankind” depicts the self-destructive nature in all of us. Destroying our environment means ultimately destroying ourselves.

Stefan was awarded first place in the 3D category in the Fort Langley Arts Show. It has earned international recognition at the Agora Gallery in SoHo Chelsea,  New York City, in 2005. This piece received admiration and compliments for its social commentary and its exquisite finish.
