“Hang On” is a sculptural installation composed of a fibreglass sphere and fibreglass human figures, fixed on a stainless steel anchor. The figures crowd the surface of the sphere, clinging, pulling, and balancing against one another in a dense accumulation of bodies.

The work addresses the pressures of overpopulation, using the spherical form to evoke the planet itself. As the number of figures increases, space becomes limited, movement restricted, and balance precarious. Each figure struggles to maintain footing, yet their proximity makes isolation impossible. Individual survival is inseparable from collective strain.

The stainless steel anchor introduces a sense of weight and inevitability, suggesting both an attempt to stabilize the situation and the burden imposed by unchecked growth. Hang On reflects the mounting tension between human expansion and the finite limits of the world that must support it.

Size: The planet is 24″ (56 cm)  in diameter. The sculpture is approximately 5′  (150 cm) high.
